ESPN has picked up the live broadcast rights to the 2017 World Baseball Classic across both ESPN and WatchESPN.
The pan-regional broadcaster will be broadcasting all of Australia’s games at the multi-city tournament. Australia are playing in the the first round of the tournament having won through a qualifying tournament in Sydney last year.
Australia’s opening game of the World Baseball Classic’s first round is against Japan at the Tokyo Dome on Wednesday, March 8 at 7.00pm local (9.00pm AEDT).
Game two of the first round is against China on March 9 at 7.00pm local (9.00pm AEDT), before taking on world number five ranked Cuba in their third and final pool game on March 10 at 12.00pm local (2.00pm AEDT).
The first round takes places in four cities: Seoul, Tokyo, Miami and Guadalajara. Two teams from each pool advance to the second round, with the top four teams advancing to the finals in Los Angeles on 20-22 March.
ESPN and WatchESPN will also be broadcasting the second round from Tokyo from March 12-16 and the finals in Los Angeles on March 20-22.
