Perth Wildcats stay enrolled at ECU

Reigning National Basketball League champions Perth Wildcats have renewed their partnership with Edith Cowan University.

As part of the new deal, ECU branding will continue to feature on the front of the Perth Wildcats playing jerseys for the next three NBL seasons as well as digital branding at the club’s home games.

The university will also get partnership rights to two Wildcats home games per season over the course of the deal.

Wildcats managing director, Nick Marvin, commented on the renewal. “The Perth Wildcats need long-term support from renowned West Australian brands to thrive so it’s exciting to have ECU on board for another three seasons.

“As an organisation, we’ve been the beneficiaries of ECU’s programs, with a number of our key staff acquiring their tertiary qualifications at Edith Cowan.”

To further strengthen the educational aspect of the deal, the Wildcats will also provide internship opportunities for ECU students over the three years.

ECU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Steve Chapman, added. “The Perth Wildcats are one of Australia’s most successful sporting teams and we’re excited to support them in defending their title next season and beyond.

“We’re also excited about the potential off-court opportunities. ECU offers a range of courses related to the sports industry, including sports management, events management and communications, and our students would no doubt benefit greatly from gaining Work Integrated Learning experience with the Perth Wildcats.”
