NRL club Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs have upgraded current sponsor Kia Motors Australia to major sponsor status for the next three years.
According to The Australian, the deal between the club and the Korean automaker is said to be a multimillion-dollar deal and will conclude at the end of 2019.
The club has had a minor sponsorship agreement with Kia since last year, having been the club’s official vehicle sponsor, but the new deal will see Kia branding on the front of Bulldogs playing jerseys and training apparel.
“Kia Motors is a truly global company that has identified sport sponsorship as a key marketing strategy,” said Bulldogs chief Raelene Castle.
“We are proud that they’ve chosen the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs to help them grow their brand in Australia, it’s a coup for our club and for rugby league.”
